Senior National Team on their Way to Vienna
The Israel Senior National Team will begin their bid to win the B Pool of the European Baseball Championships in Vienna, Austria on July 27. The team will face competition from teams from Austria, Sweden, Belarus, Poland and Lithuania during the six-day tournament. The tournament runs to August 2.
The winner of this year’s B-Pool will advance to next summer’s A-Pool joining the top European teams including Holland, Italy, and Germany. Last year, Israel won the European Championships C-Pool in Slovenia. Israel is currently ranked 6th in Europe, and 19th in the world in baseball after an appearance in the 2012 World Baseball Classic Qualifier and their C-Pool win.
