Little League Debut

Little League makes its Israeli debut when the Jerusalem All-Stars beat the Sharon Valley All-Stars 7-3. The LA Times reports a lot of time was wasted "retrieving wild pitches, pop flies, and slipped yarmulkes."

1989

המשחק הבינלאומי הראשון

נבחרת ישראל מפסידה 50-0 לערב הסעודית במשחק הראשון שלה אי פעם. חוקי הטורניר מאפשרים הפסד טכני כאשר קבוצה מפגרת ב-10 נקודות, אבל באופן ישראלי אמיתי, נבחרת ישראל ממשיכה להילחם עד הסוף.

1990

The IAB grows slowly, as more and more kids in Israel begin playing baseball.

2007

Going Pro

The Israel Baseball League becomes the first professional league in the Middle East, featuring six teams in a 45-game season. Sadly the league lasts just one season.

2012

On a World Scale

Israel is invited to Jupiter, Florida to qualify for the World Baseball Classic for the first time.

2016

World Baseball Classic

Israel qualifies for the World Baseball Classic in Brooklyn, New York.

2017

Israel finished 6th in the world at the World Baseball Classic, losing to Team Japan in the Tokyo Dome after winning their first four games of the tournament.

2019

Tokyo Bound

Israel beats South Africa in the final game of Qualifiers and becomes one of six teams to make the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

2021

Olympic Win

Israel beats Mexico at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, becoming the first team sport to win a game at the Olympics for Israel since 1968. The team ultimately finishes in 5th place.

2021

Silver Medalists

Israel wins their first five games at the European Championships and wins a silver medal.

2023

WBC: Group of Death

Israel competes in the “group of death” in Miami, Florida with Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and Puerto Rico at the World Baseball Classic, but wins one game versus Nicaragua to automatically qualify for the 2026 WBC.

2024

A New Era Begins

The launch of Israel Baseball Americas.
